About the Role

The Behavioral Intervention Specialist will work under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide direct implementation of behavior analytic services. The primary responsibility is to deliver interventions to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing problematic behaviors in the school setting.

Main Responsibilities

The Dare County Schools BCBA will assess students with suspected behavioral needs, developing programming accordingly. Students may be referred for assessment through various channels, including the MTSS process and identified EC students.

The RBT will implement programming based on assessed student needs, which may involve push-in or pull-out support, one-on-one or small group instruction, and varying intensity levels depending on individual student requirements.

Additionally, the RBT will collaborate with TAs or teachers to develop and model strategies, conduct observations for data collection, and train staff members in data monitoring techniques.

RBT Equipment Needs

To perform their duties effectively, RBTs require:

  • A small space for 1:1 or small group work.
  • A computer for daily data input.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $50,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with benefits that support the well-being of our employees.
