Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Design and Construction to join our team. This key role will oversee the leadership of a professional team of design and construction project managers, ensuring quality projects are completed on time and on budget.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of project managers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement industry best practices to ensure best value for the university and adherence to state and Board of Regents standards.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and campus partners, including divisional partners, legal, public safety, and others.
  • Oversee the selection, contracting, and management of General Contractors and Architects.
  • Ensure adherence to university design and construction standards and Board of Regents standards.
  • Develop and manage communication protocols for all project stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience, including previous experience managing teams and experience with various construction delivery methods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications (e.g. LEED AP, P.E., AIA, PMP, etc).
  • Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Previous experience in higher education and/or research laboratory construction.
