Housing Case Manager Position

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Specialist to join our team at BronxWorks. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct services to clients, including housing intake, engagement, assessment, service plan development, referral, advocacy, counseling, exit summaries and follow-up.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field and a minimum of four years' experience in a related position. They will possess an engaging personality, detailed oriented skills, strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload and monitor client progress toward housing service plan goals/exit strategy
  • Document all interactions with, or on behalf of clients, and maintain familiarity with housing programs, various subsidies/vouchers/resources available on- and off-site
  • Provide presentations on housing as assigned by the program director and coordinate client services with other social service, mental health, medical, employment, child, DHS, HRA and other providers
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or another related field of study preferred
  • A minimum of four years experience in a related position
  • Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills essential
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology required
Working Conditions and Benefits
  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods and occasional lifting/moving up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, climb five flights of stairs if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects/documents and travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation
  • Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year
