Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care at Capital Health Care Network. This position involves working independently and collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure residents' needs are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications, start intravenous fluids, and document medication administration on patients' charts.
  • Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in their conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment.
  • Provide basic patient care and treatments, including taking temperatures, blood pressures, dressing wounds, and giving enemas or douches.
  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, moving in bed, or standing and walking.
  • Apply compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles as needed.
  • Clean rooms and make beds.
  • Prepare food trays and examine them for conformance to prescribed diet.
  • Wash and dress bodies of deceased persons.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must have attended an accredited LPN program.
  • Must be currently licensed LPN with the state of Ohio.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation.
  • Able to work independently and possess leadership ability.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures, as well as applicable state laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in long-term care facilities.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
