Job Title: Community Support Specialist
Job Summary:
MBI Health Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated Community Support Specialist to work independently and provide support to adults and children with serious mental illness and disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to consumers' treatment.
- Collect information about consumers through interviews, tests, and evaluation of day-to-day functioning.
- Aid consumers in their own homes/program and in the community to allow them to function more safely and independently.
- Identify social, economic, recreational, and educational services in the community that will meet consumers' needs.
- Recognize potential crisis situations, analyze such situations accurately, and develop strategies to deal with such situations.
- Assist case management team in identifying potential problems and providing input to counselors and other professionals.
- Attend worker meetings, supervisory conferences, and other activities.
- Complete a minimum of 25 billable SIDA hours each week.
Requirements:
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational, computer, and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Previous work in the mental health field and/or social services/social work, preferred.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
- H.S. degree and credentialed through a combination of education and experience.
- Must pass background check.
