Job Title: Community Support Specialist

Job Summary:

MBI Health Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated Community Support Specialist to work independently and provide support to adults and children with serious mental illness and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to consumers' treatment.
  • Collect information about consumers through interviews, tests, and evaluation of day-to-day functioning.
  • Aid consumers in their own homes/program and in the community to allow them to function more safely and independently.
  • Identify social, economic, recreational, and educational services in the community that will meet consumers' needs.
  • Recognize potential crisis situations, analyze such situations accurately, and develop strategies to deal with such situations.
  • Assist case management team in identifying potential problems and providing input to counselors and other professionals.
  • Attend worker meetings, supervisory conferences, and other activities.
  • Complete a minimum of 25 billable SIDA hours each week.

Requirements:

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, computer, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Previous work in the mental health field and/or social services/social work, preferred.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.
  • H.S. degree and credentialed through a combination of education and experience.
  • Must pass background check.
