As a Data Center Operations Technician at My Next Career Path Staffing, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining 100% critical systems uptime. Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth operation of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling systems, communications, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot critical infrastructure systems, including electrical feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, and UPS Systems.
  • Train to become a first responder to critical infrastructure alarms, ensuring prompt action in emergency situations.
  • Accurately and timely complete work orders, prioritizing tasks to meet business objectives.
  • Handle various tools and equipment with precision, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets Switch standards.
  • Assist in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Perform assigned collateral duties and tasks assigned by management staff.
  • Attend assigned meetings and training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

To succeed in this role, you should possess some knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems commonly employed in data center environments. Additionally, you must follow established safety practices and procedures in applicable situations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with data center, safety, electrical, and cooling designs.
  • Ability to work any shift in a 24x7x365 Operation, including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic typing, email, and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a technical trade school background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics.
