Job Summary:

As a CT Scan Technologist at Brown University Health, you will operate a CT scanner and related equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of various anatomical areas. This role requires general supervision and adherence to established procedures.

Fostering patient-centered care, you will work with geriatric adult and pediatric patients, considering their unique needs and cultural patterns.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex CT procedures in a busy Radiology Department.
  • Ensure quality results and train fellow students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques.

About the Department:

The Department of Radiology features five scanners from GE and Siemens, utilizing state-of-the-art technology, including the GE Revolution Ascend Ulrich CT Motion Injector. This is a teaching environment with training available for all types of cardiac imaging.

Our team environment supports staff in transporting patients and performing ancillary duties, ensuring a collaborative and efficient workflow.


Requirements:
  • Must hold a RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license from the DOH.
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
  • Must hold a current CPR certification from AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required, plus registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.
  • Six months experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus six months specialized training in the operation of the CT Scanner.

Work Environment:

Work location is generally in the CT Scan area or satellite areas, with minimal discomfort due to noise, dust, or temperature.

Exposed to radiation, but with established safety procedures, there is little chance of injury.

Long periods of standing, walking, pushing portable equipment, and lifting/patient positioning are required.
