CMM Programmer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to join our team at 180 Engineering. As a CMM Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to conduct dimensional inspections on parts at various stages of the APQP process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain measurement plans using the ERP work order system.
  • Conduct capability studies on parts as required, and maintain all records and parts.
  • Create and maintain Work Instructions, Standard Work, and similar documentation related to CMM equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs on the CMM, including stylus/stylus system replacement, cleaning ways, etc.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and assist in efforts to reduce CMM cycle time.
  • Attend required seminars and in-house training.
  • Ensure the CMM area is clean and organized (5S).
  • Be available to cover all three shifts and possible weekends to support production.
  • Follow company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy.
  • Provide training on CMM operation, troubleshooting, and basic GD&T principles to users and team members.
Requirements:
  • High School/GED, and 2+ years related experience.
  • Completion of basic training in CMM technology, operating CMM, and reading CMM data.
  • Basic gage training, including micrometers and calipers.

Preferred: Advanced training in CMM technology.
