Job Overview

Luster National is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to lead our civil and highway projects.

About the Position

We are looking for a skilled project leader with technical expertise and management experience in delivering complex projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, working closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely completion within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, resource allocation, and risk assessment, while aligning with company objectives and client requirements.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative environment that drives results.
  • Customer Relationship: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication of project progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Financial Management: Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cost projections, making informed decisions to maintain financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Schedule Management: Create and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and critical path activities, and implementing adjustments as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Quality and Safety: Enforce quality standards, safety protocols, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction work.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address unforeseen challenges to minimize project disruptions.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize productivity and maintain project timelines.
  • Procurement: Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, RFIs, and other project-related documentation.
  • Issue Resolution: Quickly address and resolve issues that arise during construction, making well-informed decisions to keep the project on track.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years' experience in heavy civil project management with a focus on roads and bridges, transportation, transit, rail, or aviation.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques related to heavy civil projects.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, exceptional organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $185,000, based on national averages for similar positions in Queens, NY.
