Job Summary

The University Hospitals Health System is seeking a skilled Trauma Data Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Adult Trauma Center, you will be responsible for collecting, entering, and maintaining accurate data in the UH trauma registry database. Your primary area of focus will be the Trauma registry at UH CMC and other UH system hospitals as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and abstract data from patient charts with precision and accuracy.
  • Assign proper E-codes, Injury Severity Score, Abbreviated Injury Scale, and ICD9 coding.
  • Prepare registry reports and submit them to the Ohio Trauma Registry and National Trauma Data Bank.
  • Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Public Safety regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of trauma data collection and reporting laws and regulations.
  • Provide office coordination for the Trauma Center, including billing, tracking revenues and disbursements, and preparing financial reports.
  • Order and track supplies, handle accounts payable, and provide clerical assistance to the PI coordinator and manager.
  • Support sponsored events and outreach programs, including registration, scheduling, fundraising, and logistics.
