This occupational therapist role is based in Rapid City, South Dakota, at our facility GSS SD Rapid City St Martin.
About the RoleWe are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments to help them develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform tasks in their occupations of life.
The Occupational Therapist will conduct evaluations and provide interventions for clients/patients/residents who have functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
In this role, you will evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities of clients/patients/residents; develop realistic therapy goals, and administer appropriate occupational therapy programs.
You will document client's/patient's/resident's information for evaluation, establish therapeutic plans, and modify them if necessary.
As an Occupational Therapist at the Good Samaritan Society, you will also provide clients/patients/residents education designed to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
Additionally, you will demonstrate and incorporate knowledge of current research into daily treatment of clients/patients/residents.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- A valid driver's license (when working at a Sanford Health Facility).
- Maintain required department specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.
