Position Summary

The University of Denver's Morgridge College of Education seeks adjunct instructors to teach graduate courses in the Library and Information Science department. Courses may vary, and more information can be found on the Registrar's Office schedule of classes.

Essential Functions

  • Teach in-person or online courses once a week.
  • Create and maintain course Canvas containers.
  • Meet with students as needed to support their success.
  • Provide timely feedback and grades to students.
  • Respond to emails from students and program leadership within 48 business hours.
  • Participate in recruiting and informational events as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant content area, such as Library and Information Science or an equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
  • Two years of professional experience in a library, archive, museum, or other information services setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience at the graduate level.

Work Schedule

Faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website.

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress levels are moderate to high.
  • Noise levels are quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Course Rate

$1,193 per credit hour taught.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, available market information, and course enrollment, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
