CAD Technician

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our Public Works team in Tyler, TX. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for performing drafting, plan preparation, and working with design professionals to create accurate and complete layouts, cross-sections, and production documents.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Halff Public Works CAD standards and follow instructions from PM and Designer.
- Review project design documents prepared by engineering specialists and ensure redlines are incorporated into document drafts.
- Use CAD software to prepare and/or evaluate diagrams, elevations, and/or site configurations.
- Prepare routine to moderately difficult engineering and construction drawings while utilizing survey data.
- Prepares accurate and complete layouts, cross-sections, and production documents with direct input from Designer or Engineer.
- Manage files according to the CAD Standards and prepares final drawings.
- Coach new hires in CAD standards.
- Actively participate in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve project quality.
- Support multiple projects when needed and help ensure timely completion of assignments.
- 1-3 years of experience in 3D Civil Engineering Environment, Land Development, and/or Public Works preferred.
- Aptitude for mathematics, reading drawings and maps, 3D visualization, and a moderate degree of computer and CAD software competency.
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Ability to work in Open Roads Designer preferred.
- CAD Technical Certificate or CAD AS Degree desired, but not necessary.
