Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Diesel Technician II to join their team. As a key member of the fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

The ideal candidate will possess 3 years of experience in a related field, with a high school diploma or equivalent required. A valid driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card are also necessary qualifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing various types of truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials
  • Inspecting, testing, and listening to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges
  • Road testing vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly
  • Managing parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service trucks and performing periodic reconciliation
  • Maintaining and operating company-issued service vehicles, conducting safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections
