Medical Actors Required for Simulation Training

Job Summary
We are seeking part-time Medical Actors to join our team at the University of Western States. As a Standardized Patient, you will simulate various health conditions and provide students with opportunities to practice interview and exam skills in a safe learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Memorize scripts and/or watch training videos prior to scheduled work hours
* Role-play health problems and remain in character during the history and physical examination
* Allow students to perform physical examination or mock treatment procedures, including palpation of the abdomen, muscles and joints of the spine and extremities, examination of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs, demonstration of stretches or other therapeutic exercises, etc.

Requirements
* Ability to adapt to changes in work environment and scheduling
* Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English
* Demonstrate above average verbal and written communication skills
* Flexible schedule with availability for part-time work on an irregular basis
* Must pass pre-position screening examination at the UWS Campus Health Center (CHC) to determine any physical condition(s) that would impact ability to portray specific exam findings accurately and realistically or be at risk for injury as part of job duties
