Job Title: Behavioral Support Specialist

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to provide behavioral support services in a school setting.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Support Specialist will provide personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned students. This includes assisting with daily living activities, managing assault/difficult behavior, and implementing behavioral plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned students
  • Assist with daily living activities, including grooming, eating/meal preparation, toileting, and ambulation
  • Manage assault/difficult behavior and implement crisis intervention strategies
  • Encourage independence and maintain student safety
  • Implement behavioral plans and document care per Amergis policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Full command, verbal and written, of the English language
  • Current Health Certificate (if applicable)
  • Current CPR card
  • Current TB Skin test or Chest X-ray
