We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at SA Recycling. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and inspection of our auto shredder and concentrator. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, as well as welding, machining, and metal fabrication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic, troubleshooting, and service and repair tasks for hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Complete routine inspections and maintenance tasks with minimal interruptions to production.
  • Inspect, install, rig, modify, remove, and repair motors, belts, sensors, safety guards, and other equipment.
  • Maintain metal and belt conveyor systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
  • Communicate and work well with others in a safe and professional manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working area.

Requirements:

  • Vocational/Technical Industrial Maintenance Mechanic degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working in a scrap metal recycling yard or medium to heavy industrial environment.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Experience operating industrial equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and hoists.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
