We are seeking a highly motivated Electronic Fire Service Sales Representative to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a member of our global sales team, you will be responsible for promoting and selling Electronic Fire Service offerings to various customers and end-users within assigned territories and accounts.

Job Description

This is a field sales representative position responsible for selling Electronic Services (Moves, Adds, and Changes) to assigned customer bases (geography or account). Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the entire sales process, from uncovering opportunities, developing solution/value propositions, preparing designs, creating contracts, negotiating terms, closing opportunities, and providing ongoing customer service through service delivery.
  • Working with other sales, technical, design engineering, service, support, and management teams to meet customer needs.
  • Assuming Account Representative/Account Management responsibility, including the provision and/or coordination of services (installation, customer training, etc.) to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

You will be required to quickly identify and qualify opportunities with excellent sales, presentation, and closing techniques. Determine customer needs and develop sales strategies to gain customer understanding of company product offerings. Conduct building surveys to support the development of estimates, and develop and maintain an active proposal backlog to support achieving designated sales plan objectives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be highly self-motivated and success-driven, with a high energy level and a strong desire to succeed. You must possess strong written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to persuade and close sales. A strong knowledge of the fire alarm industry is essential, and obtaining appropriate licenses required by national, state, and local codes is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or Engineering is preferred, as well as experience working with electrical contractors, reading blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Computer experience, including familiarity with Word, Excel, and job costing systems, Microsoft, and Oracle programs, is also desirable.
