Certified Medication Aide

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Certified Medication Aide. In this role, you will be responsible for administering oral and topical medications to patients/residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will also perform routine daily tasks required to maintain the health, comfort, and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.
* Demonstrates knowledge of 'five rights' of medication administration.
* May take and record vital signs of patients/residents/residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications.
* Records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
* Observes for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse or the appropriate shift.
* Administers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.
* Documents reason for and response to PRN medications in a timely manner.
* May dispense narcotics and must account for them under the supervision of the licensed (or charge) nurse per facility policy.
* Properly secures medication carts/medication rooms per state and federal regulations and facility policy.
Requirements:
* State certification as a Nursing Assistant mandatory.
* State approved medication administration certification (where required).
* Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
