About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Project Manager to join our team in Laredo, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of drainage systems, including stormwater management, culverts, catch basins, and drainage piping.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising employees' activities at the project site, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget. This includes planning and coordinating drainage projects from start to finish, procuring materials and equipment, and maintaining job safety.

Responsibilities
  • Set daily work objectives and communicate them to the crew while encouraging their input in setting goals.
  • Assist the superintendent in identifying and resolving quality control problems on job sites.
  • Plan and coordinate drainage projects, including site preparation, installation, and maintenance of drainage systems.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and supplies needed for drainage projects, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Strive to meet company EEO/AA goals by assisting management in hiring qualified minorities, females, and veterans for employment, training, and promotion.
  • Participate in pre-project or pre-task construction planning sessions to familiarize themselves with unique schedule and job budget characteristics.
  • Organize, schedule, and request personnel and subcontractors for timely project completion in conjunction with the superintendent.
  • Determine and recommend improvements in methods, schedules, and procedures where practical on the project.
  • Has authority to dismiss laborers and operators when necessary, in accordance with established company guidelines.
  • Recommend changes in material suppliers and truckers, coordinated with the superintendent.
  • Assume responsibility for validating lines, grades, and quality of workmanship.
  • Train laborers and craftsmen in basic skills required to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Inspect materials upon delivery to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Sign and code delivery tickets.
  • Ensure material delivery to the construction site per established agreements and in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain and encourage job safety.
  • Review labor reports weekly.
  • Report daily time of crew, equipment, and materials used, as well as quantities of work completed.
  • Report any extra work, back charges to subcontractors, or delays caused by owners, utility companies, or others.
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, labor relations, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings, and other documents.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.

Requirements

  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of drainage systems, including stormwater management, culverts, catch basins, and drainage piping.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).

Work Environment

This role involves working in industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops. You may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, and various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, and equipment. You may also be exposed to chemical substances.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
