About the Role:

As a Clinical Support Specialist in our Inpatient Nursing department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the guidance of our Registered Nurses. This dynamic position requires a strong commitment to delivering developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide uncomplicated clinical treatments and services for assigned patients in a patient care area, reporting directly to department management.
  • Collaborate with RNs to provide developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to assigned patient populations.
  • Complete non-clinical procedures accurately under the direction of RNs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an active enrollment in an accredited Registered Nurse program with completion of at least one semester of clinical rotation.
  • Prior experience as a Nursing Care Partner at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (within 2 years) or completion of the nursing student extern program at CHKD.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school program without successful completion of the NCLEX board exam or certification as a nurse assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
  • CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
  • A record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript is necessary for those areas performing complexity testing.

Working Conditions:

You will work in a normal patient care environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and other environmental stressors. However, you may frequently be exposed to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to the performance of certain patient care activities.

Salary Range:

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000-$70,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
