Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support for students in early education settings. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 1+ years of interpreting experience and relevant certification in sign language interpretation.

Hours: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week

Caseload/Details:

  • Working with students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to 1st grade
  • Providing services in a Special Day Class (SDC) with opportunities for mainstreaming
  • Onsite services preferred

Special Requirements:

  • Must hold relevant certification and have experience in sign language interpretation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sign language interpretation for students in TK to 1st grade
  • Facilitate effective communication among students, educators, and peers
  • Support students in both SDC and mainstream classroom environments
  • Assist in the development and execution of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Engage in IEP meetings and collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of interpretation services provided
