Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Penn State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and deploying Research and Development SONAR systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform System and Electrical Engineering roles in circuit design from early prototype work through limited production, including system and circuit levels of performance analysis, qualification, and testing.
- Create System level functional and electrical circuit diagrams, models, and simulations.
- Perform circuit designs for low noise, low power, high efficiency (battery powered) electronics with emphasis on quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and perform electronic CAD work including responsibilities for overseeing all phases of Schematic and PCB designs, directing BOM management and transfer to fabrication services.
- Develop System level and inter-disciplinary requirements documents, including performance requirements, test and validation plans, and specifications.
Requirements:
- Minimally requires Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline plus 5 years' related experience for the advanced professional level.
- Strong analytical skills, including analysis, simulation and prediction for complex multidisciplinary systems.
- Strong skills and demonstrable experience in low noise and high power electronics, including high efficiency battery power supply and power management designs analog, mixed, and digital signal conditioning and processing.
- Proficiency in analog and mixed circuit design skills required, including low noise small signal amplifiers, filters, signal conditioning and protection circuits, ADCs DACs, CODECs.
- Expert level skills in Embedded hardware design with emphasis on low power microcontrollers, SOCs and CODECs.
