Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI scans with attention to detail and precision, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain protocols, and provide clear instructions to ensure comfort and understanding.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the department director or clinical engineering team.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in MRI technology and best practices, attending training sessions and workshops as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Active enrollment in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry-eligible program, or equivalent certification.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine, and advanced registry from ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI within one year of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MRI scanning and related technologies, with a strong commitment to patient safety and care.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, requiring moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation are expected, along with frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling in the daily operation of the MRI department. As an MRI Technologist at Atrium Health, you will have access to ongoing training and education, staying at the forefront of MRI technology and techniques.
