Job Summary:

The Commodity Manager will be responsible for contract creation, negotiation of terms and conditions, and ongoing contract maintenance on a global basis for logistics suppliers. This role will also involve liaison with NCR legal and local operations teams, as well as support for FAP (freight, audit, and pay) for regional operational teams with any supplier improvement and corrective action initiatives attributed to supplier performance issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage contract creation, negotiation, and maintenance for logistics suppliers on a global basis.
  • Liaise with NCR legal and local operations teams to ensure compliance and effective contract management.
  • Support FAP (freight, audit, and pay) for regional operational teams with supplier improvement and corrective action initiatives.
  • Manage strategic relationships with global freight forwarders, including RFP, pricing, tariff, savings, and routing guide development/maintenance.
  • Manage strategic relationships with North America FTL/LTL trucking suppliers, including RFP, pricing, tariff, savings, and routing guide development/maintenance.
  • Manage strategic relationships with global transportation for small package carriers.
  • Manage strategic relationships with global/regional 3PL and GRE providers, including RFP and pricing.
  • Liaise with operations teams and logistics suppliers for performance, capacity, and payment issues.
  • Responsible for TMS rate, routing guide, and business rule creation/maintenance.
  • Develop analytics and reporting for transportation and warehousing spend for executive-level dissemination.
  • Support regional and local procurement teams as needed with ad-hoc requirements related to logistics.
  • Implement a rigorous and disciplined process for managing the supply base, including leading periodic business reviews, monitoring and managing supplier performance, and developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans.
  • Partner with key logistics teammates to develop and implement the strategy and execution of logistics sourcing activities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years related experience, including people management experience.
  • Strong forecasting, negotiations, and contract management skills, including a working understanding of contractual terms and conditions and risk mitigation.
  • Understanding of the legalities of ethical purchasing behaviors and the ability to work with Legal on assuring those aspects.
  • Ability to indirectly influence and lead cross-organizational and/or cross-functional teams, including a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally at all organizational levels and/or with outside professionals.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving/troubleshooting, communications, presentation, and problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills.
  • Effective time/resource management and project management skills/capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with ERP systems.
  • Financial acumen a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree.
  • Competency in overall supply chain and inventory strategies & practices.
  • APICS or ISM Certification (e.g., CPIM, CIRM, CSCM, CPM).
