Critical Care NICU Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care NICU Nurse Specialist to join our team at Children's National Hospital - AH. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and make a meaningful difference in the lives of premature and ill newborns.

- Salary:$3,158.26 per week
This is a 13-week assignment with a guaranteed number of hours. You will be working as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to premature and critically ill newborns.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including pediatric medical subspecialists, pediatric surgical subspecialists, and pediatric anesthesiologists. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualized care to each patient based on their unique needs and circumstances
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
- Participating in complex surgical procedures for repairing congenital or acquired conditions
- Addressing various medical conditions, including prematurity, gastrointestinal disorders, genetic/metabolic disorders, pulmonary hypertension, renal disorders, and sepsis
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient care and progress
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- 2+ years of experience in NICU settings
- Valid State License (pending license may be accepted if issued before start date)
- BLS certification
- NICU IV experience and recent trach and vent experience
This is a non-smoking environment, and we require a minimum gap of 1 year for returning nurses. The facility is a teaching and Level 1 Trauma Center, offering a challenging and rewarding work environment.
