Job Summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to lead our production team in meeting production goals, quality, and cost objectives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directs Production Activities: Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Manages Production Team: Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff.
  • Prioritizes Production Schedules: Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Develops Schedules and Manpower Requirements: Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
  • Selects, Develops, and Evaluates Personnel: Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Provides Weekly Updates: Provides weekly updates to production schedules to the team and customer.
  • Establishes Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Production Build Plans: Establishes daily, weekly, and monthly production build plans based on material availability, production capacity, and priorities working in conjunction with the Production supervisor.
  • Monitors and Oversees Production Execution: Monitors and oversees the execution of various productions builds per established plan.
  • Reviews Progress and Makes Course Corrections: Reviews progress to plan and makes course corrections as needed.
  • Interacts with Planning, Stockroom, and Purchasing Teams: Interacts with planning, stockroom, and purchasing teams as necessary to ensure availability and smooth flow of kits to production floor.
  • Reviews and Provides Estimated Completion Dates: Reviews, plans, and provides estimated completion dates (ECDs) for order backlog for every spacecraft program.
  • Collaborates with Test Manager and Maintenance Teams: Collaborates with test manager and maintenance teams as needed to schedule critical resources (e.g., vibration equipment and test chambers) based on ECD commitments, workload, and build schedules to meet ECD dates.
  • Reviews Production Capacities and Identifies Capacity Constraints: Reviews production capacities and identifies capacity constraints proactively to initiate hiring decisions.
  • Works with HR Department: Works with HR department by interviewing and selecting suitable candidates needed in production based on the skill set needed.
  • Works with Program Management: Works with program management as needed on new orders by being part of contract review.
Requirements
  • Understanding of Material Flow and Shortages: Understands material flow and shortages and product quality.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP Systems: Experience working with ERP/MRP systems like ORACLE, SAP, etc.
  • Ability to Coordinate Daily Activities: Works with different departments to coordinate the daily activities and resolve any issues.
  • Workload and Schedule Management: Manages workload, schedule management, and all personnel documentation, shifts, overtime, and vacation requests.
  • Customer-Focused Supervisor: A customer-focused supervisor with demonstrated ability to schedule, forecast, and meet deadlines.
  • Seasoned Leader: A seasoned, experienced leader who can select, teach, coach, and mentor a workforce to support quality-driven, customer-focused operations.
  • Review of Manufacturing Processes: Reviews current manufacturing processes, evaluates efficiency, and gap analysis.
  • Implementation of Improvements: Creates and implements improvements and clear documentation of work instructions.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: A person with a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High Energy and Action-Oriented: High energy and action-oriented.
  • Effective Communication: A demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles: Exposure to lean manufacturing principles.
  • ISO9001 and AS9100 Requirements: Conversant with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.
  • ITAR Requirements: Conversant with ITAR requirements.
Qualifications and Other Requirements
  • US Person: US person (US citizen or Green Card holder).
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field is preferred or electronics assemblies AS degree, electronics technician certificate, or completion of military electronics training.
  • Additional Experience: Two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Experience in CM Production: 5+ years experience in CM production preferable.
  • Experience in Manufacturing of PCBA: Experience in the manufacturing of PCBA in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Familiarity with NPI/Prototype Builds: Familiar with NPI/prototype builds in a high mix/low volume environment.
