Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and degree of penetration required.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides.
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Orient new hires and train students.
  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a specialty (mammography) or one year of experience in a specialty with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in that specialty.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California).
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Ability to perform all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties on patients of all ages.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and groups with varying knowledge of Radiology services.
