Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled attorney to join our Corporate Counseling & Transactions Unit (CC&T) at State Farm. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising on a variety of technology matters, including transactions for technology services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transactional law, with a focus on technology-related agreements. You will work closely with our Enterprise Technology Department, Purchasing Department, and other business areas to ensure that vendor contracts are negotiated and drafted effectively.

This is a hybrid role, requiring a combination of in-office and virtual work. You will be based in Bloomington, IL, and will be expected to spend the majority of your time in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on legal issues related to transactions for technology services, including counseling on vendor contracts and agreements.
  • Negotiate and draft technology-related agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, technology consulting, staff augmentation, and outsourcing agreements.
  • Work closely with business areas to allocate business and legal risks associated with vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Technology Department and Purchasing Department to ensure effective vendor management.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar.
  • Ability to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed in IL.
  • 3-6 years of transactional experience, preferably with experience or acumen in the technology area.
  • Commitment to providing quality legal advice, learning agility, and a history of enthusiastic participation in a team environment.
