Job Summary

St Croix Hospice seeks a skilled Massage Therapist to provide high-quality massage therapy services to patients in need of comfort and relaxation. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with clinical supervisors and directors to develop and implement individualized plans of care that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct massage therapy services to patients, following the direction of clinical supervisors and directors, and in accordance with individualized plans of care.
  • Assess patients for medical indications and determine the effectiveness of therapy.
  • Treat patients to relieve symptoms and provide relaxation and comfort.
  • Direct and aid patients through massage therapy interventions to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, isolation, agitation, restlessness, sleeplessness, pain, muscle tension, circulation, stiffness, contractures, limited mobility, relaxation, and comfort.
  • Utilize interventions such as Swedish Massage, Comfort Touch, Energy work, and compressions.
  • Bring awareness to the clinical team regarding appropriateness and/or contraindications for treatment.
  • Observe and report patient responses to treatment and changes in condition to clinical supervisors and directors.
  • Provide education and awareness to the clinical team regarding therapy treatment.
  • Maintain necessary records, including clinical notes, problem charting, and coordination notes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program with a minimum of 600 hours of training in Massage Therapy.
  • Current licenses or certifications as required by state law.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
