Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

About the Job:

As a Materials Manager at Johnson Controls, you will oversee the storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring deliveries occur within customer timelines, and maintaining accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
  • Direct production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts.
  • Maintain inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Work with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
  • Manage and monitor storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Perform write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
  • Establish procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
  • Proficient with inventory reporting systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 3-5 years of industry / functional experience.
  • Functional expertise in material fulfillment and supply chain.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical tools / systems to increase efficiency and standard processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze supply & demand requirements (LOB) to identify material risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with external supply chain and simultaneously drive accountability to improve delivery against need.
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize, simplify and communicate complex messages cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • APICS Certification preferred.
