Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Boston Childrens Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex imaging examinations, providing a safe environment for patients, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex imaging examinations, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Review and evaluate requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed.
  • Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions, developing a care plan for each patient's specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA.
  • Follow Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow and High Reliability Training.
  • Respond to the uniqueness of each patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and family.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Modality Manager, Chief Technologist, or Assistant Chief Technologist.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
  • BLS certification.
  • Associates Degree.
  • 3 years of experience.
  • Current MA Radiologic Technologist license is required for General Radiography.
