Job Title: Paramedic

Boone County Hospital is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and transportation services to our community.

Job Summary:

The Paramedic will administer first aid treatment and transport sick or injured persons to medical facilities, working as a member of our emergency medical team. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency calls, providing pre-hospital EMS and interfacility medical transports
  • Provide clinical assistance within the facility when preparing for, responding to, or recovering from ambulance calls
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • State of Iowa Certified Paramedic
  • Current Iowa EMS certification
  • Current Chauffeur's license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
Working Conditions:

Typical work involves working pre-hospital in multiple settings, from mild to extreme conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts and other conversations.
