About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Relief Valve Technician to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on safety relief valves.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Repair and test safety relief valves to ensure they are functioning properly and safely.
  2. Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at client locations, communicating timely updates to management, coworkers, and customers.
  3. Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
  4. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment

As a Safety Relief Valve Technician, you will work in a fast-paced environment with rotating equipment and energized components. You will be required to use personal protective equipment, including respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, and hard hats, as conditions warrant.

Physical Demands
  • This position requires long periods of standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, twisting, kneeling, stooping, bending, and crouching, as well as handling equipment ranging in weight from 1-100 lbs.
  • Work may be performed in adverse environmental conditions, such as confined spaces, high-temperature areas, and elevated heights.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a High School Diploma or GED and two to five years of experience in industrial valve repair. You must also have a proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity, and trust, as well as knowledge of Westinghouse processes and procedures.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of Westinghouse and client technical manuals and procedures, pass Westinghouse and client-specific training and qualifications, and work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
