Senior Transportation Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Inspector with GDOT Certifications & CEI Experience to join our Transportation Department in the Norcross, GA area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify materials testing and recording, ensuring compliance with laws, codes, and regulations.
- Deliver engineering and construction management support for transportation projects, including roads, bridges, and greenways.
- Conduct field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications.
- Review blueprints to prepare for field observations on construction sites.
- Document field activities, observations, and testing results, ensuring conformance with project plans and specifications.
- Utilize Metafield and/or other field and laboratory information management systems to record testing results.
- Communicate field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients.
- Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
- GDOT Certifications and CEI Experience are required.
- Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment) is required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with company-provided Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear.
- Ability to work and maneuver equipment on uneven ground and around active construction sites.
- Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.
