Job Summary

The Divisional Program Manager is responsible for mentoring and guiding Program Coordinators to ensure the implementation of activities aligns with Team objectives. This role supports the SVP of Meetings, Divisions & Partnerships and (Senior) Director, Divisions, serving as a liaison for planning between the Meetings, Divisions & Partnerships Business Center and the Association's Divisions, Chapters, Affiliates, Working Groups, Committees, and Client events.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coordinate innovative initiatives and lines of effort that support the Division and Association's Vision, Goals, and Strategic Priorities.
  • Facilitate the development of value for the NDIA members and Government stakeholders through relevant initiatives, content, and relationships.
  • Assist SVP and (Senior) Director with all aspects of Division support.
  • Facilitate the development and execution of events through speaker management, agenda development, and marketing materials in consonance with Division, Working Group, and Committee leadership.
  • Supervise the work of Program Coordinators as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of divisions in support of the Association's mission.
  • Provide guidance to Division Coordinators.
  • Support SVP and (Senior) Director with special projects, such as standardization, charters, best practices, and data management.
  • Update and maintain Division documents, succession plans, and SOPs.
  • Maintain working relationships with key stakeholders in coordination with volunteers and Division leadership.
  • Work with volunteer leadership to perform administrative duties in support of Division management.
  • Collaborate with NDIA Meetings in the planning and execution of meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Review and update schedules/timelines, web pages, and community sites, and other documents as directed.
  • Complete post-event analysis and summary documentation for senior leadership.
  • Conduct local and out-of-town travel as required to support Division, Working Group, and Committee events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, or related field preferred, or combination of experience and education.
  • Five years of experience in program management and program roles gained in a non-profit, for-profit, foundation, or government setting.
  • High intellect and critical thinking skills.
  • Confident and effective public speaking.
  • Personal accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative work style.
  • Word and PowerPoint experience.
  • Personal commitment to NDIA mission and values.
Internal and External Relationships:

Maintains close and frequent contact with the Sr. VP, Meetings, Divisions & Partnerships, (Senior) Director, Divisions, Meetings Policy & Strategy, as well as other NDIA teams.

Has extensive contact with Division leadership, NDIA BOD members, corporate members, military, and government.

This position involves moderate travel, locally and outside of the DC area. This is a mainly in-office position and may require some bending and lifting and requires the use of a computer and office machines. Remote working 1-2 days per week may be available.
