The Department of Veteran Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinics is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join their team in Chesapeake, VA or Virginia Beach, VA. This opportunity offers a unique chance to care for veterans and be part of a dynamic healthcare environment.

About the Role:

This position requires no call coverage and has an ideal Monday through Friday workday (8-4:30 pm). The patient pool for this role is 1200 assigned veterans with an allotted daily patient load of 13-totaling 30-hours a week dedicated to face-to-face care. There are also special opportunities for pools of patients to be dedicated to either all geriatrics or women's health.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • You may be required to serve a probationary period.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

Compensation:

This position comes with a competitive salary of $200,000 per year, plus an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases. Additionally, you will have access to generous education support programs, including loan repayment and reimbursement, as well as unprecedented federal retirement benefits including a traditional pension (5 years' vesting) and a Retirement pension (TSP) with up to 5% in employer contributions.
