Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of resident needs and develop individualized plans to prevent and manage infections.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement evidence-based infection control practices and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on infection rates, outbreak investigations, and staff training activities.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff on infection control best practices and procedures.
  • Investigate and analyze outbreaks of infection, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; current RN license in New York required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in long term care, including at least 1 year in infection control.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
