We are seeking a highly skilled Plumber to join our team at Quality Services International LLC.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Key duties will include:

  • Performing installations and repairs of pipes, fittings and fixtures according to specifications and plumbing codes;
  • Studying building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations;
  • Inspecting structures to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe;
  • Locating and marking position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors and underground, using ruler, spirit level, plumb bob and other equipment;
  • Cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipefittings, using hand tools and power tools;
  • Cutting and threading pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine;
  • Bending pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand;
  • Assembling and installing valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools;
  • Joining pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and calks joints;
  • Filling pipe system with water or air and reading pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking;
  • Installing and repairing plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners;
  • Repairing and maintaining plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains;
  • Maintaining and/or testing backflow prevention devices;
  • Assisting other trades in basic carpentry and other basic construction/maintenance tasks;
  • Directing and coordinating activities of other workers in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems;
  • Performing routine to general maintenance services including painting, equipment repair, grounds keeping, and snow removal;
  • Performing repairs on a variety of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, building systems, and other critical systems;
  • Maintaining current plumber license or identification card to meet governmental regulations;
  • Maintaining a safe and secure working environment;
  • Maintaining and creating Activity Hazard Analysis;
  • Keeping records of all maintenance and repair work conducted;
  • Assisting others as part of the maintenance team as required;
  • Performing other duties as assigned which may include Safety and Quality Control which may require additional training.
