Job Title: Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team at the State of Michigan. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing professional psychiatric care and treatment to mentally ill adults in an in-patient State psychiatric hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric care and treatment to mentally ill adults
  • Oversee the activities of professional staff, including Registered Nurses, Psychologists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Meet patient treatment standards as established by the Joint Commission, Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services, and other applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform rotational on-call duty evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements:

  • Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • Completion of a psychiatric residency program and at least one year of experience as a psychiatrist in a mental health, clinic, program, or correctional facility
  • Licensure to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan
