Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medical Technician to join our team in the Post Surgical Unit. The successful candidate will provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and transportation to the sick and injured through the NYC 911 system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition and treat in accordance with NYS DOH and Regional Guidelines.
  • Transport patients to appropriate hospitals and transfer care to hospital staff, communicating patients' conditions and any treatment rendered.
  • Complete electronic Pre-Hospital Care Reports (E-PCRs) including insurance information and assignment of claim signature in accordance with LMC policies.
  • Comply with uniform policy and maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance.
  • Notify RCC at the beginning of the shift and log onto the CAD system in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor MDT and radio for assignments and promptly communicate changes in signal status.
  • Follow LMC, FDNY, and NYS DOH guidelines for operations of emergency vehicles.
  • Work as a team with partners and other providers on scene and at the hospital to provide highest quality care.
  • Participate in Department, hospital, and regional Quality Improvement programs.
  • Maintain ability and credentials to work in NYC 911 system.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Completion of New York State Department of Health approved EMT Program.
  • Six (6) months ambulance experience as Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Six (6) months 911 BLS experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Weapons of Mass Destruction Certificate (WMD).
  • Haz-Mat Awareness Certificate.
  • CEVO or EVOC Certificate.
