Payroll Specialist

Prequel Solutions is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in the greater Pittsburgh area. This is a long-term contract position with a flagship financial services company, offering a hybrid working model and excellent benefits.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for payroll preparation, processing, reporting, and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance across payroll systems. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll changes, invoices, and approvals.
- Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and taxes.
- Manage system interfaces between PeopleSoft and Dayforce.
- Prepare and validate 401(k) and FSA accounts.
- Support payroll audits and assist with onboarding new hires.
- Provide administrative support for payroll-related programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- 3+ years of payroll experience.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with Dayforce, Oracle Financials, and PeopleSoft preferred.
- Strong math and financial reconciliation skills.
