Job Description

The Mammography Imaging Specialist will perform various technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. Key responsibilities include operating mammographic radiographic equipment, positioning patients, calculating exposure factors, and assisting physicians. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for performing quality control functions related to mammography, evaluating radiographs, preparing medical supplies, explaining procedures to patients, charging mammographic procedures and supplies, providing education and training to new Mammographers, and assisting in maintenance and compilation of statistical data.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must hold an ARRT certification in radiography and an advanced certification in mammography. They should also be FDA/MQSA qualified and meet the MQSA CE requirements of at least 15 CEUs in a 36-month period, with at least 6 CEUs in each mammographic modality used. A minimum of two years' experience as a Mammography technologist is preferred, along with performance of at least 200 mammography examinations in a 24-month period.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
