Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineering Technician to join our team at Redwire Space. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms, operating spaceflight hardware and test fixtures, and assisting with the technical development of testing demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms using established procedures, including static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operation, separation, shock, and vibration.
  • Operate spaceflight hardware and test fixtures using data acquisition systems and established procedures.
  • Attach and remove components on spaceflight hardware.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical components after test completion.
  • Perform maintenance on test fixtures.
  • Assist with non-conformance investigations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Technical Degree with 0-2 years of experience or High school diploma or equivalent with 6 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with common aerospace assembly and inspection tools, such as torque wrenches, load cells, feeler gauges, calipers, and multimeters.
  • Experience assisting with writing technical work instructions related to environmental testing.
  • Understanding and experience with quality management systems such as AS9100.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts such as fasteners as small as #0-80.
  • Experience using electronics equipment, such as DMMs, power supplies, DAQs, etc.
Desired Skills
  • Strong technical capability and mechanical inclination, with ability to follow and execute procedures.
  • Experience working in an aerospace cleanroom environment - preferred.
  • Understanding of advanced electronic circuitry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously.
  • Ability to provide intuitive and timely solutions for immediate prototype production.
  • Effective communication abilities, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • High standard of quality workmanship.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
