Track Maintenance Specialist

Job Overview

The Track Maintenance Specialist is a critical role within our team at Talladega Superspeedway. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the track and surrounding facilities are in top condition for events. This includes performing a variety of duties necessary to maintain all aspects of the facility with special emphasis on event preparation, track rentals, and on-site activities.

About Us

Talladega Superspeedway was created as a palace of speed in 1969 by NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr., who coined it "the Greatest Race Track in the World." At a mammoth 2.66-miles with 33 degrees of banking in the turns, it is NASCAR's Most Competitive venue. The "Fun" track prides itself on being family friendly, especially with the introduction of the Talladega Garage Experience in 2019 where guests are immersed into motorsports like never before.

Responsibilities

As a Track Maintenance Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include operating equipment of all types (tractor, dirt compactor, backhoe, water truck, power/hand tools, fork lift, dump truck sweeper) as directed by the Manager of Facility Operations and maintaining equipment as necessary to meet goals and objectives of the facility. You will also communicate, manage, and work directly with track vendors and contractors. Additionally, you will hang and dismantle signage, banners, etc., as needed. Other responsibilities include digging ditches with shovel, trencher, and/or backhoe, maintaining landscaped areas, cleaning grounds, repairing tools, water lines, fences, gates, walls, walkways, buildings, and performing general maintenance as directed by the Manager of Facility Operations. You will also paint track wall, fences, concrete barriers, grounds, and buildings utilizing ladders, lifts, and scaffolding as directed by the Manager of Facility Operations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong willingness to accept direction in diverse circumstances and the ability to adapt manual skill level to a variety of work areas. A satisfactory completion rate with little supervision is essential. Your qualifications should include a minimum age of 18 years old, a High School Graduate/GED, a valid Driver's License, and a successfully passing driving record check (preferred but not required).
