Job Summary:

The Rush Oak Park Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to serve as a Lead in our team. As a Lead APP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and supervising APPs, and contributing to the development of department goals and policies.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including conducting comprehensive health assessments, developing patient care plans, and ordering and interpreting tests and treatments.
Lead and supervise APPs, including scheduling, orientation, and administrative duties.
Develop and implement department goals and policies, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures involving APPs.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and cost-effective services.

Requirements:

Current State of Illinois Physician Assistant Licensure or Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure required.
Current Certification from National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or other agency recognized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) required.
Degree from an ARC-PA (or predecessor) accredited PA Program or Master's degree in nursing required.
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS are required within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a practicing APP in a hospital emergency department.
Strong work ethic, interpersonal and communication skills.
Superb time management and organizational skills.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in a demanding patient care environment where the exposure to illnesses is a constant concern.
