Job Summary

Brightside Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging educational programs that promote child development and learning.
  • Provide consistent supervision and support to children in the classroom, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Encourage children's involvement and participation in activities, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in planning, evaluating, and implementing educational programs, ensuring alignment with our curriculum and standards.
  • Prepare the classroom environment with materials and resources to support weekly plans and activities.
  • Implement age-appropriate development and culture activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Participate in the Response to Intervention (RIT) process to support children's individual needs and progress.
  • Identify and support children's differences and needs, adjusting the curriculum and environment as necessary.
  • Assist with classroom management, including monitoring attendance, mealtime, toileting, resting, and classroom procedures.
  • Participate in classroom transition processes and contribute to a smooth and efficient daily routine.
  • Abide by and enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Maximize enrollment potential and minimize student withdrawals by maintaining consistent customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all required business management practices and maintain accurate records as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent with one year of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Associate's degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education (ECE) or credits toward obtaining a degree in ECE.
  • Forty-five professional development hours or three to six ECE credits are also acceptable.
  • Strong organizational skills, friendly but stern disposition, adaptability, attention to detail, time management skills, ability to multi-task, intermediate reading, writing, and communication skills, self-motivation, and intermediate reasoning skills.
