SSM Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Tech to join our team at SSM St. Mary's Hospital - Madison, WI. As a Radiology Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their understanding and providing educational materials as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure, following radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patient activity during procedures and report any abnormal findings.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, maintaining a clean and orderly department.
  • Perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • No experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
