About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GPR Utility Location Technician to join our team at ECS Limited. As a key member of our Special Projects Group, you will be responsible for performing field observations and inspections, as well as conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) on various construction materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Activities: Conduct observations, testing, and inspections of construction materials, including structural steel and reinforcing steel, under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
  • Testing Procedures: Conduct routine observations of structural steel and reinforcing steel, including welded or bolted connections, using various methodologies and testing equipment.
  • Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections, and maintain organization of field equipment.
  • Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers, and provide technical advice to resolve issues.
  • Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing, and mentor other technicians as they grow in their careers.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current ASNT CP 9712 Certification or ECS PQC NDE Certification to Level II in a minimum of 2 methods.
  • Ability to lift 85 lbs and perform work at heights.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
