About the Role

LMI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Analytics Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of data analysts and data scientists to provide analytical support through machine learning, statistical analysis, causal analysis, and modeling and simulation within the people analytics team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead and collaborate with a team of data scientists, data analysts, and HR functional SMEs to understand business processes, develop analytical requirements, and interpret and communicate analytic results.
  • Data Problem Framing: Frame and scale data problems to effectively analyze, visualize, and derive data solutions.
  • Complex Data Analysis: Understand and analyze complex, organization-specific datasets.
  • Model Development: Build models using machine learning, rule-based, or traditional statistical methods.
  • Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of the organization's advanced analytics strategy and roadmap.
  • Technical Consulting: Implement and deliver technical and process consulting through management of standard consulting projects.
  • Data Visualization: Transform data and analysis into informative visualizations and interactive dashboards using open-source and commercially available tools.
  • Insight Derivation: Derive insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling and communication.
  • Client Focus: Operate in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, delivering analysis and reporting.
  • Data Integration: Develop techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use.
  • Stakeholder Management: Advise non-technical customers on the interpretation and use of data analysis products, dashboards, and reports.
  • Project Management: Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of analytical solutions with business goals.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Technical Guidance: Stay updated with the latest advancements in analytics and data science, and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Team Development: Provide training and mentoring to junior team members to build the team's overall capability.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical outputs through rigorous quality assurance and validation processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline is required.
  • Advanced Degree: Advanced degree (master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years as a technical lead or task lead.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record of managing and delivering complex analytical projects.
Technical Skills
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python and Java and/or experience with computational analysis tools like R and MATLAB.
  • Data Science Libraries: Familiarity with data science libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, keras.
  • Data Visualization: Competence in creating meaningful data visualizations and interactive dashboards that communicate findings and relate them to business impact.
  • Visualization Platforms: Experience with visualization platforms like Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, RShiny, Plotly, and Tableau expertise strongly preferred.
  • Databases: Working knowledge of databases and strong SQL is desired.
  • Data Science Methods: Familiarity with data science methods related to data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics.
  • Natural Language Processing: Experience with unstructured text and natural language processing is preferred.
